Mt Lassen View
Oct 26-28, 2013
Mom and I took off for a weekend at Lassen Volcanic National Park. I got some good "scouting" for my upcoming hikes and adventures in the winter months, to see what the buzz is all about. I got a National Park year pass, so I don't have to be cheap about not going into certain parks because of cost. I did some hiking and reading over the three day camping trip. I revisited a 4 mile stretch of PCT, and the side trail leading up to the PCT was a trail I got lost on back during my through hike:)
It snowed 3 inches our last night, so I got to drive out in a nice, new snow. Pretty cool.
Now I'm back home and just went through the process of rescuing a dog from the shelter!!! Her name is ?????? She is a great dog so far and I'm definitely looking forward to doing some miles with her.
For my next journey, I'll be going to Tahoe and hiking some, maybe all of the Tahoe Rim Trail and other trails around there. And yes, I know there is going to be snow. I'm prepared and excited to get some snow hiking in with snow. From there I'll head north, probably to Mt Lassen again, northern areas and the coast, then back home for Thanksgiving. It's a very flexible schedule as of now, and I'll be sure to keep ya updated as best as possible!
